10 Goals Before I Get Hitched
Time flies when you’re having fun. Our engagement has flown by. It’s seems only yesterday that Jake was getting down on one knee at the Wisconsin lake house and proposing. Life is all bliss with Jake. It flies because everyday is another adventure. While I can’t wait until I get married there are a few things I want to do for me before I am a “wifey.” A few things to get ready for the wedding and a few things to rid the stress/ constant hustle and bustle these days. 1.Run a 15k Running is a passion of mine. I ran in high school and just for fun in college.…

Wedding Countdown: Thoughts & Organization
It’s crunch time. It’s the final countdown. Of course I get the song “The Final Countdown,” by Europe stuck in my head while writing this post. I promise you ladies it will be there all day. We are under the two month mark. There is so much to do and so little time to do it. When people say planning a wedding is another full time job, there is no joke with that. It’s definitely another full time job. I have found it to be a fabulous and fun job during the last year and a half, but I am ready for the double full time jobs to come to…

Colorado Wedding Shower
What a whirl wind these past two months have been. I was blessed to have another wedding shower last weekend and be celebrated by the best of the best in Colorado. We did a fabulous brunch at Ophelias Electric Soapbox that was a memory I will forever treasure. The Saturday morning started out like any other with pure barre and espresso. The seemingly normal Saturday morning soon became a bit more than any other weekend. I got dressed up in a cute lace/embroidered romper and sparkle heels and popped in the Uber to Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver. The Decor We were seated in the lower/basement area…

Wisconsin Wedding Shower
Last weekend was truly an amazing weekend. I was surrounded by friends and family for my Wisconsin Wedding Shower. It was a fabulous weekend full of food, fun and games to name a few. The shower exceeded all expectations I could have ever had for a wedding shower and the memories are a permanent reminder of just how loved I am. Preface While I was in college I worked for an amazing family in the Madison area basically doing anything and everything that was needed. It was the best job, not only for the flexibility while carrying a full college load, but for the family I worked with and grew…

Bridal Shower Packing
It’s crazy that we are under 100 days until the wedding and even more crazy that the wedding events have started. This weekend I have the pleasure of being pampered by close friends and family for my Wisconsin Bridal Shower. What a treat! Where did the idea of a bridal/wedding shower even begin. After doing some research online it seems bridal showers seemed from earlier dowry practices. When a woman got married she would bring a dowry with her. If the woman’s family was poor or didn’t support her marriage a shower was a way to fill her dowry before marriage. The bridal shower allowed her to marry exactly who…

Wedding Saving Tips
We are almost down to 100 days until our wedding. The wedding planning process has been quite the job, literally I think it’s a second job, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I finally am wrapping up all major vendors and some of the minor ones and looking in good shape for our big day, minus the 101 things that come up that you have to purchase. I have literally made a list of things to buy every month from now until our wedding. Call me crazy, but I am only crazy organized to ensure our day goes off without a hitch. Thankfully, I will be leaving the day of…

Wedding Planning De-Stress
Planning a wedding is a huge undertaking. I have absolutely LOVED planning our wedding, but this doesn’t go to say that I haven’t had any stress. The stress is there and it’s really real. If I wasn’t stressed I would probably wonder what is wrong with me. The stress isn’t bad stress, it’s the stress that pushes and drives you to get stuff done. It’s the stress of perfection. While a little stress in a positive way is good, you need to ensure you have ways to cope with it. Below are a few of my tips and tricks to de-stress while planning a wedding. Self Pamper You…

Sweating For The Wedding
We are almost at the 5 month mark until our wedding. Gosh crazy! It feels like just yesterday that Jake was down on one knee proposing.I have officially begun my #SweatingForTheWedding workout routine. Why are you just starting now? We have a decent size engagement period (15 months) and thus there was no reason to start incorporating the exercises needed for the wedding way out. Self Image I have said our entire engagement that I don’t plan on losing weight, but I do want to tone up areas. I am comfortable with who I am. It’s hard for me to see skinny/normal sized girls try to lose weight before their…

How to Pick the best Wedding Florist for You
There are no words to describe how much I love flowers. Flowers are always in our house. They provide that pop and happiness. This is exactly what I dream for our wedding day, that the flowers provide that pop and happiness that they do everyday. Wedding flowers are one of these things that I found are a bit more expensive than I would like, but I didn’t get discouraged. I stuck to our budget and did my research. Doing the Research Head to Instagram: Like most of the vendors I found for our wedding, I found the perfect florist for our wedding on Instagram. Who doesn’t want to see a…

L-O-V-E—Where it all started
Life, Love and more Life Growing up I was the “princess” type of girl. I dreamt of finding true love and marrying a prince. Marrying a prince is exactly what I am doing this year. Where did it all start? My fiancé Jake and I met in “Sparkle City,” South Carolina, aka Spartanburg. Both of us had jobs take us out there after college. …let’s take a few steps back I moved to Spartanburg, SC immediately following college. I didn’t know a sole, but what I did know is that I had mountains of college loans to pay off. Upon moving to “Sparkle City”my boss at the time introduced me…
