    Road Trip Guide

We have taken a few road trips now this December. The longest being 15 hours from Colorado to Wisconsin. Wheww, talk about sore hinder (for those of you who don’t know what hinder is, it’s your behind, your hind-end, hinder, get it). I compiled the below Road Trip Guide, to help you on your next trip. I absolutely despise road trips, and maybe I am alone in this, but there is nothing more boring and painstaking than sitting in the car for countless hours. Personally, if a trip is going to be longer than a couple hours, it’s call a plane ticket. This doesn’t work though when you have a…

    Madison, Wisconsin- Must Visit List

Madison, Wisconsin is definitely home away from our Colorado home. For those of you who don’t know, I am a “Badger” and went to UW Madison for my Bachelors of Science degree. This past weekend I flew back for my Wedding Shower (wedding shower details here), but this post isn’t about the shower it’s to introduce you to a few of my favorites in Madison, Wisconsin. This list is by no means exhaustive but a few of my favorites and ones I definitely recommend checking out!     Indie Coffee My favorite coffee shop in Madison. I used to go to Indie Coffee with one of my best college friends…

    Wisconsin Wedding Shower

Last weekend was truly an amazing weekend. I was surrounded by friends and family for my Wisconsin Wedding Shower. It was a fabulous weekend full of food, fun and games to name a few. The shower exceeded all expectations I could have ever had for a wedding shower and the memories are a permanent reminder of just how loved I am. Preface While I was in college I worked for an amazing family in the Madison area basically doing anything and everything that was needed. It was the best job, not only for the flexibility while carrying a full college load, but for the family I worked with and grew…

A Morning Routine Sure to Get You Going

Rise and shine it’s bootie kicking time! Are you the person that rolls over in the morning and pushes snooze on your alarm. While I am sure you know that’s a bad habit, I am going to tell you IT’S AN EXTREMELY BAD HABIT. Get out of bed, get your day started, don’t let your body dwell on what it can’t have; more sleep. While I was never one to super sleep in growing up, I wasn’t one to get up at 6AM. I always thought my parents were nuts. I am now that “nuts.” We are up everyday between 5-6:30 AM. Somedays I willingly wake up then and some…

    Home Happy Hour-Gin Martini

I will be the first to say YAY for Friday! I am ready for some time to catch up on me, I mean us (my fiancé, our charcoal lab and me). Our schedule is somehow overflowingly busy these days. With a martini in hand, I am conquering some of the catching up tonight. I like to call it HHH which equates to- Home Happy Hour. HHH is a fabulous way to be productive and still get your Friday on. Who indulges in HHH on Friday’s instead of going out? We do pretty much every Friday. I am not big on what many call “going out.” Don’t get me wrong I…

Getting Your Health & Fitness On

Getting my health and fitness on is an everyday adventure. I “try” to eat healthy most days and workout at least 5-6 days a week. When I say I “try” to eat healthy, I mean most of the time I do, however I eat everything I like in moderation. Moderation I believe is key to a healthy lifestyle. I see so many people going on different diets and giving up certain types of food. I do not feel you have to do this. I love carbs, like most woman, and dessert happens to be my middle name, not really, but that’s how much I like it. I limit myself to…

    Wedding Guest 101

How many weddings have you been to this year? How many of you find them stressful? They definitely don’t have to be. I know it can be stressful finding the perfect outfit, but I have a few tips and tricks below to help. Wedding Guest: Carmel-by-the-Sea: Today we are attending a wedding, where I knew no one coming into the weekend. My fiancé has numerous friends on the East Coast because that’s where he went to prep school and college, and with the distance I have really never had a chance to meet them. Now I am sure you are probably thinking, don’t you ever travel back to the East…

    Packing for Carmel-by-the-Sea

Who out there dreads packing? I surely do. I always wait until the last minute, grab a glass of wine and charge. We are headed to a wedding in Carmel By The Sea this weekend. I am super excited, as all the research I have done makes it look GORGEOUS. Our trip is super short and basically a hop and a jump, wedding and a hop and jump back, however I plan on making the most of it. My fiancé is in the wedding, so his time is even cut shorter, but the fabulous thing is I am #womanboss and #selfconfident enough to explore on my own. I have planned…

    I went Blonde with Balayage

Everyone says their hair dresser is the best, but mine…literally a god. Like every woman I look forward to my hair appointments. They are beyond relaxing, my hair is finally at peace with itself…hmmmm, and life is just good again. Having amazing hair is definitely one of my keys to loving myself and being a #womanboss everyday and Riley makes that happen. I am in my upper 20s and finally got my hair colored. Crazy ladies, right? I know I am behind times, but I never wanted to, as getting your hair colored is such a working job itself, however…I discovered Balayage. Let me tell you, AMAZING! It’s beyond low…

    Preparing YOU for the Week

Shouldn’t everyday be “easy like Sunday morning?” It definitely can be and this is how you can do it. 1. Review your Social and Appointment Calendar Reviewing your social and appointment calendar helps you mentally prepare yourself for what’s coming your way during the week. I find my week to be much less stressful when I know what I have coming, rather than remembering last minute or when you get those lovely confirmation emails and texts. Reviewing your calendar ahead also lets you foresee time conflicts before they arise. You are being proactive instead of reactive. Much less stress! 2. Make a TODO List I have a paper planner that…
