Napa Bachelorette Party

You have probably heard me say this over 100 times now, but what a bachelorette party for the books. It was by far the best girls trip I have ever had and it makes me crave more. There is nothing like a good girls trip to soothe the soul.

#NapaJustGotHotter was a 4 day 3 night trip.  It started out with a delicious breakfast and mimosas at Elways in DIA. 8 AM flights have nothing on me. Six of my babes and I headed from all areas of the country to SFO, where we rented a huge 15 passenger van for us and all of our bags. Let’s face it we don’t know how to pack light.

All loaded up we began our road trip from SFO to Napa, CA. While not a long road trip (around an hour), we sang, we car/van danced and chatted. Our first stop before the house was the grocery store.

The babe brigade and I stopped at Trader Joes in Napa, CA. My type A self previously created a grocery list and meal plan for us for the 4 days so we didn’t end up just eating junk. The ladies and I divide and conquered Trader Joes. Our carts may have had way more in them than the list requested of us, but oh well. I guess that’s what happens when 7 girls head into Trader Joes hungry. One thing I really love about shopping at Trader Joes is the convenience of the wine store right there. With two carts full of food and one cart full of wine and bubbles we checked out and were on our way to party.

Bachelorette Trip

This map includes most of the stops we made during the trip.

Airbnb

The babe brigade and I stayed at the cutest airbnb in Napa. It was a 3 bedroom 3 bath house. Each room had it’s own ensuite, which was extremely nice. It made our “get ready” time shorter than it would have been if we had less bathrooms. The house had an nice kitchen for cooking, living room for lounging and backyard complete with a hot tub and pool. The hot tub was definitely a highlight for all of us. It was so nice to sit in it, sip bubbles, relax and girl chat.

We used the spacious kitchen a few times to cook meals. I love to cook, so the babe brigade and I all made meals together. This was so much fun and such a bonding moment. A few of our cooking endeavors included:

  • Lasagna
  • Carmel Cinamon Rolls
  • Steak
  • Roasted Veggies

Vineyards

What’s Napa without some wine? We did one day of vineyard tours and tasting during my bachelorette trip. The babe brigade and I had a blast. We had a driver for the day that took us from vineyard to vineyard. Due to the larger size of our group a few of the smaller vineyards we wanted to see we couldn’t, but the ones we did go to were fabulous.

First Stop: Caymus

Caymus happens to be one of my favorite vineyards in Napa and the one I booked first. While Caymus doesn’t offer a tour, they do offer intimate group settings outside where you and your group can sip on wine and have a fabulous time. I absolutely adore the entrance to Caymus. The arching vines with fountains in the middle speak serenity. You add wine into this picture and you have yourself a wining vineyard.

  • Favorite Caymus Wine: Cabernet

Second Stop: Silver Oak

I had never been to silver oak before, and as wine illiterate as it sounds I had never tasted their wine. My co-MOH loves Silver Oak and booked this tour and tasting. Walking into Silver Oak and glancing to the left you are overtaken with the owners personal glass cellar. It boasts numerous oversized and vintage bottles. While it is a functioning cellar it’s also a piece of art.

The tour at Silver Oak was quite lengthy, but a lengthy tour boasted loads of red wine. We learned about the Vineyard, wine making process and ate some of the sun kissed grapes off the vines.

The sun mixed with the changing fall leaves and sips of red wine were all the bliss.

  • Favorite Silver Oak Wine: Ca

Lunch

For lunch we had a delightful picnic basket pre-made by Oakville Grocery. It was filled with charcuterie, cheese, pickled veggies, nuts and delicious bread. The artisan spread that was made for us and placed in the most adorable cooler picnic basket was heaven.

Oakville Grocery started in the 1800s and is the longest continually operating grocery store in California. I would highly recommend getting lunch catering from Oakville Grocery for a day of wine sipping. It’s the perfect pairing to the wine and day.

Third Stop: Domaine Carneros

Domaine Chandon was the third stop and bubbles were much needed at this time of day to liven us up. The ambiance on the outside of Domaine Carneros was gorgeous.  The bubbles were fabulous and kept flowing during the tour and tasting.

Interesting fact from the tour:

  • There are 6 twists to open every bottle of bubbles.

We were also taught how to open a bottle of bubbles without loosing all the of carbonation, so that the bottle keeps for longer. I attempted to do this multiple times during the weekend and only mastered it once out of the countless times.

Favorite Domaine Carneros Wine: Brut Cuvée

Fourth & Final Stop: Inglenook

Inglenook did not disappoint. We checked in at the end of a long gated road leading into the vineyard. Our shuttle drove us down the long road lined by vines of sun kissed grapes.

The babe brigade and I did a private tour at Inglenook. We were greeted by a fun concierge/ tour director where we were given a glass of wine and an umbrella to tour the grounds. We were guided throughout the vineyard seeing every little detail. A few of my favorite parts:

  • The history behind the vineyard. There are still beams in the vineyard where the workers used to walk on over the tanks of wine.
  • Wine Caves: The wine caves were like no other. They were definitely a maze to get through but smelt of aging wine and fresh oak barrels.
  • Private Cellar: We ended our tour in a private wine cellar where cheese and charcuterie boards were set up for us as well as a few bottles of wine.
  • Vineyards: walking in the vineyards and eating some of the sun kissed grapes.

This vineyard was the perfect ending to an amazing day with the ladies. Being able to sit in the private cellar and chat and sip on some fine wine was #AllTheBliss.

Favorite Inglenook Wine: Rubicon

House Party

The rest of the trip the babe brigade and I enjoyed each others company and numerous bottles of bubbles and wine. All of the girls brought a little something for the group and decorate the house to perfection. The somethings consisted of:

The ladies and I had the time of our lives singing and dancing and mastering the Chambong. My un-smart self thought it would be fun to buy Chambongs and bring them to Napa as something fun. Well little did I know but I would be the first one to partake on this endeavor and this wouldn’t be my last time. This may not be a skill to be super proud of, but I can officially say I mastered Chambong-ing during this trip. You only live once right?

Babe Brigade Gifts

I surprised the girls with a hangover bag upon arrival as I wanted to show how thankful I was they made the trip. It means the world to me they flew across the country for me. The hangover bags included:

Instead of buying individual Pepto Bismol tablets, Advil and Tums, I created my own containers. I bought these cosmetic containers on Amazon and filed them with all the goods. This way the girls actually got enough for the whole weekend and it was significantly cheaper and not to mention cuter.

I ordered canvas bags to put all the items in and decided a week before the trip they needed a little spicing up. To spice up the bag I ordered blank ironing paper and created a design for the front and back of the bag. I then topped the bags off with a little tissue paper and ribbon. Let’s face it ribbon makes any gift better. The girls loved their bags. The glass water bottles were a hit and ensured we kinda sorta kept hydrated the entire trip.

Bride Gifts

While I thought traveling across the country, road tripping and vine yarding with me was more of a gift than I could ever ask for, the ladies also got me gifts. Talk about feeling showered with love. While I won’t elaborate on the specifics of most of the gifts as they have to do with lots and lots of lingerie, I will elaborate on the one gift that made me tear up.

One of my good girl friends created a gift bag to me from my Dad. If you haven’t seen in my other posts I lost my Dad 4 years ago in a tragic accident. My Dad was my rock, my supporter, my everything. The bag included so many snickers one could not eat all in a night. Snickers were my Dads favorite candy/chocolate. I always have them in our house now, as when I need a pick me up I grab one. Diving further in the bag was a Tiffanys box. With the box was a note written on behalf of my Dad saying how much he loved me and how happy he was for me. The note was signed, “Love, Dad.” I lost it at this moment but kept on unwrapping. inside the Tiffanys box was a heart necklace, so to keep his heart and love near.

What a thoughtful gift. I was speechless. I feel and felt so loved. For my Dad to be incorporated into my bachelorette trip was extremely touching and thoughtful.

There were so many memories from this trip, but I will compile some of my favorite. For the privacy of the babe brigade I will not be listing names, but if you ladies are reading this you know who you are.
