Pantry Remodel
It finally happened. We finally remodeled the pantry. It’s finally Jessica approved, aka organized and pretty. The pantry is no longer yellow with wire shelves; it’s all the bliss. Grey with white wooden shelves. Ahh a cooking and baking wife’s dream and heaven. I finally don’t cringe going in it. Not that I always cringed, but I was not and am not big on wire shelves. While remodeling a small pantry may not seem like a boat load of work, it was more work than I anticipated. I wish I could have just snapped my fingers and it was done, but unfortunately that was not the case. It was a…

9 Steps to Finding “that” Perfect Piece of Affordable Furniture
We have now lived in the burbs for a year and a half. Moving just seemed like yesterday, maybe because it’s a colossal undertaking; what a beast. I still can’t believe it’s been that long. They say time flies when you are having fun, and oh the fun we have had in this house. We have done so many projects, from the huge undertaking of painting over 3000 feet of this house (thank the heavens the basement level was already painted), to putting up shelving, planting shrubs and our garden, putting a chandelier outside our front door, the list goes on. In addition to the mountains of projects that involve physical labor,…

House Painting
If you have been following along on Instagram stories, it’s no secret we have been working on painting our house. I am a cool color girl and currently our house is this yellow/tan/cream color. It’s on the ceilings and walls, so to say our house painting endeavor has been a small extravaganza would be a lie. While we are almost done with the first floor, it still seems like there is A LOT to go. Having a lot to go isn’t the most appealing thing, but now that we have the art of painting mastered it shouldn’t be too bad. Yes, I called paining an “art.” Painting a wall may…

Flower & Garden Inspiration
Today is the first day of Spring. It seems just like yesterday we were ringing in the new year. I am beyond excited for Spring as it means warmer weather is coming our way. I am not looking forward to the 90s and 100s, but I am looking forward to the warmer weather and to get our garden planted as well as our flower pots planted. Last year was our first year we were able to have a garden, as our house prior didn’t have a yard for it. Having a garden last summer was such a treat. I love being able to eat home grown veggies. They just taste…

Home Furnishing & Decor: Where to Buy
Decorating and furnishing a home is one large beast. Not only is it a large beast, but an expensive one at that. Super expensive if you ask me. As you know my husband and I moved out of our town home last year, lived with friends 2 months and then moved into our now house in the burbs. We went from a little over 1000 square foot town home to our now over 4000 square foot house. Sounds like a problem to have now doesn’t it? Some of you may say, why are you complaining, that isn’t a problem. I am not complaining. I am only trying to give you…

Prepping For House Guests
Last week we had guests staying at our house before our wedding. Don’t worry we didn’t invite everyone only our parents, a bridesmaid and an aunt and uncle for an evening. Yes, your right, still quite a few people under one roof and to top it off we will have 3 dogs in the mix. How in the world do you go about prepping for this many guests? History Back in May we moved from our quaint town home in the uptown area of Denver, to the burbs where we quadrupled our square footage. As you can imagine our house is pretty empty, rooms of emptiness and I am not…

Cozy Home
While the calendar hasn’t officially stated it’s Fall yet, it definitely hasn’t started to feel like it in Colorado. The cooler nights have been so refreshing and have brought smiles to our faces. With the cool nights comes making our house cozy. There is nothing like a cozy home to come back to after being gone or out and about. In the beginning efforts to make our house feel more fall like and make it a bit more cozy, I went to Home Goods and Joann Fabrics yesterday. There I stocked up on: White Pumpkins Metallic Pumpkins Blankets Pillow(s) Faux Blooming Cotton White Pitcher Candles & Holders I ended up…

All Things Garden and Plants
Whew! What a couple of weeks. We took some time this past week away from unpacking boxes to really hunker down and work on the yard. I absolutely love working on the yard, makes my heart so happy, and our yard so beautiful. When we lived at our town house downtown Denver, we didn’t have a yard and so we really couldn’t have a garden. I made do with numerous flower pots in that house, but it just wasn’t the same. This year we are blessed to have moved into our new house with a large yard and so much room to plant! Yay! The previous owners to our house…
