Go To Travel Eats

On the Road Again. Traveling for work or for personal endeavors can be a beast. The hardest part of traveling a lot is having to eat out every single meal. Why this may sound appealing to some, it has never been an appealing thing to me. Below are some of my go to travel eats to help keep me the healthiest me.

Breakfast

  • Drink: Venti Iced Americano with an extra shot and a splash of cream.
  • Food: Protein Box from Starbucks (hard boiled eggs, cheese, fruit and peanut butter)
  • Cheat Food: Scone, muffin or lemon bread from Starbucks

If I am at a hotel that has a breakfast bar I have them make me an egg white omelet with all the veggies possible. While on the road I tend to get up extremely early and workout and the work prior to having to depart the hotel for my daily activities. In saying this I usually have 2 breakfasts. My first breakfast or breakfast snack is usually some sort of fruit. Commonly I will have a banana or an apple as the hotels usually always have them and it’s easy.

Lunch

  • Drink: Water or unsweetened tea
  • Food: Groceries or sandwich

What do you mean by groceries Jessica? When I say groceries, I tend to hit the grocery store or local market upon arriving to a city and grab a few healthy snacks. Some of my favorite grocery store/market grabs are:

  • Fage 0% Greek Yogurt
  • Apples
  • Sprouts pre-made shredded chicken
  • Sprouts pre-made snack boxes (cheese, nuts, crackers, etc.)
  • Cottage cheese
  • Pretzel thins
  • Pita Chips (cheat)
  • Hummus (single serving cups)
  • single serving veggie packs
  • Luna bars (lemon or s’more)
  • Snack Mix (some grocery stores have premade mixes with nuts, cracker things, etc.—absolutely LOVE these)
  • Flavored almonds or cashews

I always try to eat a really healthy lunch, so if I want to splurge during dinner I can.

Dinner

  • Drink: Cabernet or Gin Martini
  • Dinner of choice: Charcuterie & Cheese board

Dinner is always hard. Depending on how much work I have I either order room service and keep working or go try a local restaurant. If I don’t have time to go galavanting to try a local restaurant and don’t like the room service I always tried to eat at healthier chain restaurants. My favorite healthy chain restaurant on the road is:

  • True Food Kitchen: Grain Bowls and Crudités’ are the best

Snacks

  • Healthy Protein Snack: Wasabi Almonds or Chili lime Cashews
  • Protein/Granola Bar: Luna Bars or One Bars
  • Fruit: Green or Honey Crisp Apples (Apples have lots of healthy benefits to them and are easy to grab and go.)
  • Treat/Cheat: Snickers or Gardetos (My Dad used to always eat these and so I grew up stealing his and so not only are these items a cheat for me but one with many fond memories.)
  • Crunchy Snack: Pretzel crisps or beat chips
  • Drink: Starbucks French Roast VIA

In addition to the above drink plenty of water. I drink at least 3 tumblers of water daily. When you are traveling and flying your body gets dehydrated so easily. Keeping hydrated will help keep a healthy you and help your skin stay fresh and beautiful.

Cheers & Safe Travels!
XOXO
