Adult Sloppy Joes
Growing up in the Midwest Sloppy Joes were a frequent menu item. Not in our every week meals, but for:
- Holidays
- Parties, graduations, etc.
- When people got together to lend a helping hand at someone’s house (common thing)
At the time I didn’t have an appreciation for the deliciousness of them, but as I have gotten older I have. I also have made the standard “sloppy joe” a little more gourmet, into more of an Adult Sloppy Joe. What is an Adult Sloppy Joe? It’s more than just a slap of hamburger meat between two buns. It’s a delicious vegetable and meet mixture with a homemade sauce on top of a toasted piece of parmesan sourdough bread. Doesn’t that sound good? It’s heavenly if I do say so myself, and the best part, it’s SO EASY.
I hope you enjoy the below recipe just as much as we do.
