10 Things Every Week Needs

Sitting here sipping my coffee this morning, catching up on Don’t Be Tardy and planning out my/our week. I am all about making lists and making sure my calendar is up to date before I start the week. Feeling prepared for the things I know will happen during the week, make those unexpected things minimal.

While planning out my week there are 10 things I ensure I have added in every week. These things keep me balanced, and my life moving in the forward direction. They allow me to have a piece of mind and to thank my body for all it does for me everyday.

Every Week Necessities

Structure

A Plan

Start your Sunday morning by planning out your week. Make sure all your appointments, events and things you have to attend are on your calendar. This way their are no surprises. After you make sure those items are on your calendar, add work and you meal plan (will discuss more below). Finally, make sure you add things in for you and make sure your daily TODO lists are achievable. Don’t over book yourself.

A Clean House

Maybe it’s just me, but having a clean house makes me more productive. It also just makes me happy. I absolutely hate having a dirty house. It makes me feel anxious and stressed out for no good reason. We tend to clean our house either Friday or Saturday and then do little things throughout the week to ensure it stays in one piece. Clean house, clean mind, clean life!

Meal Plan

I will be the first to admit I have been slacking in this department lately and this has thrown me off. Planning our meals for the week helps me be organized and have a game plan, so when it comes to dinner I am not struggling to throw something together. Check out my weekly meal prep blog post for all the details.

Social

Workout

One of the best ways to thank your body everyday is to get a good workout in. Thank it for being there for you and allowing you to be present everyday. Hold yourself accountable for your workouts by adding them to your TODO list/calendar. Block the time out, so you have no excuses.

Date

A healthy life definitely needs some sort of date every week. Whether it’s a date with yourself, significant other, friend, dog, etc. Make sure you schedule at least one date. Dates don’t have to be extravagant or cost any money. Maybe you and your husband have a date to go skiing, or to paint a room in your house. Maybe you schedule time to take your dog for a walk.

Socialization

Make sure you get some socialization in. Socialization is a crucial part to our well being. Some people need more socialization than others, so do what YOU need. Grab a coffee with a friend, chat on the phone with your best friend, have the neighbors over for cocktail hour…the sky is the limit, which means the possibilities are endless here.

Every Week

You

Bubble Bath

I LOVE a good bubble bath. If you follow me on instagram (@j_hotter) you already know this as my stories tend to have at least one bubble bath a week. Maybe you aren’t the bath type of person, maybe take a long hot shower, or you like to steam. Do something for you to relax and release all the muscle tension.

Positive Attitude

Start everyday with a positive attitude and a piece of gratitude. Write down what you are thankful for or make a point to say out loud to yourself what you are thankful for. Writing it down or saying it out loud makes it more of a reality. I also love starting my morning with a daily devotional. @champagneandmacaroons turned me on to Jesus Calling Morning and Evening.I love starting my morning reading this.

Masks (Hair & Face)

I do a hair mask once to twice a week. It keeps these blonde locks luscious and strong. I love the feeling of having healthy hair. I also do a face mask. Depending on how my skin is doing that week, I choose the type of mask I do. I love the Fresh Rose Petal face mask, but also have a charcoal one I love, one that peels; the list goes on. Treat and pamper yourself.

A Good Movie

Sometimes you just need to sit and relax. I am the worst at this, but I recommend putting your phone away while watching a movie and really letting yourself decompress and take it all in. Really focus on the movie in front of you instead of the million things going on in the news and with social media.

What are things you have on your every week calendar?
