5 Tips to Living Your Best Life

I literally use the phrase “living your best life” on a daily basis. It usually is in the context of talking to our pup Duke, as he definitely lives his best life everyday. Recently it has made me stop and think about me living my best life. I really took a step back and analyzed my life and what goes on, on a daily basis. While some days aren’t always the “best” I can say I “live my best life” everyday, because I live my life for me and for those I love around me. What does this mean?

Living my life for me and those I love around me, means doing first and foremost what’s best for me and what brings me joy and happiness and secondly doing what bring happiness to those around me. Sometimes it doesn’t come in this order, as I tend to put others first and make sure everyone else is ok before me, but I have learned over the years I need to take care of me. If I don’t take care of me and you don’t take care of you, then who will? People can help you from time to time, but this isn’t a permanent fix.

How to Live Your Best Life

  • Do one thing everyday for you.

You have heard me say this many times, but it can’t be said enough. Everyday, do one thing for you, no matter how big or small.

  • Prioritize

Life is a marathon and not a sprint, thus prioritizing what “needs”  to be done versus what “should” be done is super important. This will help you declutter and really put the most important things first.

  • Find happiness in the little things

It truly is the little things that help you live your best life. When you learn how to find appreciation and happiness in the little things the big things are like fire works. Finding happiness and appreciation in the little things is something than can be done on a daily basis.

  • Count your blessings

Counting your blessings goes hand in hand with finding happiness in the little things. Bad stuff is going to happen. It’s inevitable, but when it does really stop and think what just happened and that it could always be worse.

  • Stay Active and Healthy

Raise your hand if you have eaten something in the last few days you really know you shouldn’t have. Well I am sure that’s everyone, really and if you say “no” you are lying. We all have our guilty pleasures, but in the big scheme of things we really need to try and stay active and healthy. There are so many studies that show leading a healthy and active lifestyle really put you in a better mood and state. While I will be having some dessert today, the rest of my day I ate healthy and when I do eat dessert it will be in moderation. MODERATION is key.

We are all different and “living your best life” means something different to everyone, however the above tips should help you channel the best you and “live your best life.”
