29 Things You Don’t Know About Me

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear Jessica, Happy Birthday to me. There I did it. I sang happy birthday to myself. Secretly I hate when people sing happy birthday to me. I am not sure why but I do. Not really my cup of tea.

In honor of my birthday and being more open with you guys I am sharing 29 things you don’t know about me. Some of these things are a bit more vulnerable, so as you mother once told you, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say it at all.”

Me

  1. I grew up in Seymour, Wisconsin; Home of the Hamburger.
  2. I have run 4 half marathons and 1 full marathon.
  3. I love party planning and If I didn’t have the job I do (I love) I would party plan as a career.
  4. I am a sucker for cheese and I eat it everyday.
  5. I didn’t drink beer until Senior Year of college as I didn’t see a point in drinking something that tasted like water. My good friends brother broadened my horizons to micro brews and my love for good beer started.
  6. I married my partner in crime 3 times. We got married before we bought our new house. Then again because they spelt his last name wrong on our marriage certificate (of course after I switched all documents). Then the third time at our wedding.
  7. My favorite season is fall, followed by winter. I am not big on the heat during the summer.
  8. I grew up in the country in the middle of no where. Timbuktu.
  9. I have lived in 3 different states.
  10. I learned to downhill ski at the age of 24 and I still get scared. I envy those of you who learned to be “rippers” when you were young. My husband included.
  11. I am a sucker for sweets and dessert. I blame my Dad for that one, as he had the biggest sweet tooth. He ate a snickers almost everyday and now I always have them in our house.
  12. I lost my Dad in a tragic accident when I was 24. Life is way too short.
  13. I struggled with depression my Freshman Year of college, and it made me such a stronger person. I learned so much about myself and what I am capable of.
  14. I have anxiety and take medication daily to control it. The type A brain just doesn’t shut off.
  15. I love a good shopping deal and rarely buy anything full priced. Why pay full priced when there is a deal out there?
  16. My favorite TV show is Greys Anatomy and have watched each episode at least 5 times. My poor husband hates me for this redundancy.
  17. I am a hopeless romantic.
  18. I love reality TV: Real House Wives of the OC, Don’t be Tardy, Below Deck Mediterranean, Real House Wives of Dallas, The Bachelor/Bachelorette… You name it, the list goes on.
  19. My husband proposed to me in the same spot that my Dad proposed to my Mom, and he didn’t know it until after the fact.
  20. Nordstrom Rack (online) and JCrew Factory (online) are my favorite and go to shopping spots.
  21. I grew up hunting with my Dad, which led me to the health field for a career.
  22. We had a German and Taiwan foreign exchange student in high school. This was the best experience ever and plan to have one when we have kids and they are in high school. You learn so much!
  23. I have lived out a suitcase for over 2 months. Don’t get me wrong this suitcase was large and in charge, but still a challenge.
  24. I am the proud Mom of a Charcoal Lab, who is a year and 6 months old on my birthday. My pup, Duke shares his half birthday with my birthday.
  25. I am a Badger at heart. Go UW Madison! On Wisconsin!
  26. I am a mother hen and care about everyone and try to take care of everyone.
  27. One of my favorite things in life is enjoying the moment and not caring what others think (even though sometimes it’s hard).
  28. I love to camp and be outdoors.
  29. I am a perfectionist if you hadn’t already figured that out.

That wraps it up ladies and gents. 29 things you didn’t know about me. You may have known some, but hopefully even if you think you know me really well, there are a few on there that you didn’t know. What is something I don’t know about you? Can you relate to any of the above?

Cheers
XOXO
Boundless Bliss

That is incredible that your husband and dad proposed in the same places and had no idea! These were fun to read. Sorry to hear about some of your tough times.
