5 Tips to Staying Motivated & Productive through the Holiday Season

You have probably heard numerous people say “I can’t believe it’s already the holiday season,” and I am going to reiterate it. I can’t believe it’s already the holiday season. I feel like I blinked my eyes and tapped my heels, like in the Wizard of Oz and it’s here. There’s no time like the holidays, there is no time like the holidays. How in the world do you stay motivated and productive through the holiday season? There is so much going on and so many things that divert ones attention from your hustle to the bustle.

Keeping yourself motivated and productive not only at work, but with personal endeavors this time of year seems to become a bit more difficult. The phrase as my Dad would say, “keep your nose to the grindstone,” seems even more impossible every day, and inch, we get closer to them. Our brains are consumed with parities, presents, food, decor and plenty plenty more. How in the world do we divert all those thoughts, and focus on what’s in front of us? How do we keep being, and climbing the exponentially high corporate ladder? We do! Yes, two words, we do. We keep putting one foot in front of the other, and we do.

What does we do mean? How do “we do?” I do by using the 5 steps below. They keep me focused and on track. As long as I can keep my focus I am motivated to accomplish the task at hand. If I don’t stay focused the motivation and productivity goes down the drain. These tips keep me climbing toward my year, 5 year and 10 year goals. They keep me being me and driving myself towards my best future self, and they can YOU TOO.

Steps to Keep You Motivated & Productive

1. Maintain Your Routine

Whether this means workout routine, weekly routine, reading routine, etc. Maintain it. Keeping you schedule and routine in place will help keep your brain on the right track AKA motivated and productive.

For me this means working out every morning early, grabbing a coffee and charging through my emails. It also means making a healthy dinner every night and cuddling with my pup and husband.

2. Schedule Your Time

Holiday stuff comes up. Party invites start rolling in and those cookies start needing to be baked. SCHEDULE IT!!! Allocate time for these tasks. Just because you are continuing your hustle, and your boss babe lifestyle, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the holidays. Schedule holiday time in just like you do the rest of your day. You schedule it in, it happens. It happens and fuels your brain. Fuels your brain with holiday bliss.

3. Have your Cake and Eat it Too

Eat those Christmas cookies and listen to that holiday music while your kicking some a$$.

I am a frequenter on the dunking Christmas cookies in my coffee and having holiday dance jam sessions throughout the day. Yes girl you can too!!!!

4. Keep Eating Healthy, Hydrating and Sleeping

Keep loving your body is what I  am trying to get at. Your days are likely to be longer during the holiday season. Maybe because it’s a busy time at work, maybe your schedule takes on more hours of stuff in the evening, or even in the wee hours before work. Whatever it be, you need to take care of you.

You need to keep fueling your body with healthy food, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep. This time of year is the worst time to get sick, so don’t give you body the option too.

5. ToDo Lists are Your Friends

Maybe you are a todo list person 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week, or maybe your not. If your not, these holiday season months are the time to start.

Prioritize tasks and make those lists, and most importantly give yourself GRACE. You can do it all girl. It may not be easy at all times, but what’s the saying… “nothing good ever came easy.” Keep striding and climbing and, checking things off your list.

Checking this off your list not only holds you accountable but gives you a sense of accomplishment. It fuels your motivation. It’s like a round circle that keeps fueling itself.

Yes You Can

Whether you are working a corporate job or doing your own thing, you got this, don’t give up on your dreams. Keep fueling that fire. Keep igniting that flame.

Holiday Bliss

Sit back, breathe, dunk that holiday treat or candy in your coffee. Dance it out to your favorite holiday jams. It’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon and while the marathon of the holiday season goes by oh so fast, it’s one you need to buckle those boots and hunker down for. The holiday season is always a wild ride, and nothing will cease to amaze you. Not even yourself. You are amazing!!! Yes you are!!!!
