10 Must Do’s During Labor Day Weekend

I can’t believe it’s already Labor Day weekend, but I feel this is how most blog posts start. I can’t believe… Time just flies when your having fun, doesn’t it? Before we know it, it will be Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, however let’s live in the moment. Let’s live the right now and the right now is Labor Day.

We are fortunate this Labor Day to be back in Wisconsin with my family enjoying all the things I grew up with and spending time with family and friends. The below are my 10 Must Do’s this Labor Day Weekend and I can’t wait to soak up all the time and bliss.

Labor Day Sunshine

1. S’mores

S’mores are a must. Whether you make the traditional s’mores or spice it up a little.  All the gooey marshmallow and melted chocolate. Key to the heart and key to a happy life.

2. Boat Ride

Boat rides are one of my favorites. I miss these living in Colorado as we really don’t have lakes. I grew up in Wisconsin where almost every weekend we were on the boat. After my Dad passed, we sold the boat and haven’t enjoyed a boat ride all together since. This is about to change this weekend though because we rented one, and I couldn’t be more excited. I love my hair fluttering in the breeze, and just living in the moment on the water.

Labor Day Fun

3. Grill Out

Grill whatever your heart desires. I don’t know where the tradition came from, or why holidays are associated with grilling out, but it isn’t a holiday in my book unless there is some sort of grilling out.

4. Bask in the Summer Sun

Sun makes the world go round. It’s crazy how a little sunshine puts you in a better mood. I really notice it when we don’t get sun for a couple of days, and I get into a funk. Then when the sun returns and shines is beautiful light the funk disappears. Enjoy those beautiful rays.

While sunshine is amazing, sunburn isn’t. Wear your sunscreen.

5. Wear White

There is an old fashion rule that you aren’t supposed to wear white before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. It seems silly to me, and thus I don’t follow this rule. White all year round over here, but I will christian our Labor Day weekend with some white pants. Why not live the fashion rule up.

6. Have a Campfire

Having a campfire goes hand in hand with making s’mores, because you really can’t have one without the other. Feeling the cool end of summer and beginning of fall breeze while the fire crackles right next to you..bliss.

Really

7. Listen to Country Music

Nothing speaks America more than country music. Turn up the tunes and get your dance and song on.

8. Take a Road Trip or Just Take a Back Road

There is something about taking a back road and cruising. I love taking in the fresh air, summer sun and just embracing the moment.

9. Spend Time with Family

Family is super important, and life is just way to darn short. It’s important to spend a long weekend with loved ones. Cherish each others company, have a few laughs and just enjoy #allthebliss.

10. Sit Under the Stars

This is one of my favorite things to do and it’s not everyday that I get to do this. Living in the city the stars are quite often muted by the city lights and hustle and bustle. This is a definite on my weekend list. I plan on sitting out on the patio at my Mom’s house, and listening to all the sounds while watching the stars.

I hope everyone have a safe and fabulous Labor Day weekend, and don’t forget to enjoy all life’s bliss.

Cheers
