January Vibes

We are doing it ladies. We are really doing it. We are tackling January like we have never tackled it before. Why? We have vision ladies, we have goals and dreams and aspirations and so much energy to do and be. We are doing it. We are doing the good, bad and ugly. We are facing those fears like never before. We are doing it. I love January, not only because it’s my birthday month, but I get to see so many woman start resolutions. Don’t STOP ladies. We got this. Maybe you need something to keep you going. Maybe you need some ideas. Maybe you need an accountability partner. I am here for you. Let’s not do this year or years after that alone. Let’s share what we like or what works. A few things I am am focusing on, loving and doing for me this month are below. Tell me yours in the comments!

Books

I am attempting to finish one book and read another this month. Fingers crossed. The Real House Wives of Dallas keep getting in my way, but writing it here is going to hold me accountable.

The first of the books is Principles by Ray Dalio, and the second is You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I will definitely let you guys know what I think of them.

Podcasts

RISE is my new favorite podcast. Thank you to my college roommate Trica for reading my “Girl Wash Your Face” blog post and recommending the podcast. I have a good 5 episodes downloaded on my iPhone at a time and every time I get in the car, I have been listening. I have also been taking the dog on more long walks just to listen to this podcast guys. It’s that GOOD! It’s free on Spotify and the podcast app on your Apple phone. Rachel Hollis you are my idol!

You are stronger than you think you are

I replay this message over and over in my head when faced with a challenge. Your brain has so much control over you, but you don’t have to let it. Trick it. You can do it. Apply this to your new years resolutions, because you are stronger than you think and you can keep them going.

I think of this quote in a physical aspect as well. I love going to 6am Pure Barre classes and the instructors telling you to focus. Focus on that muscle you are wanting to work. Just focus. Close your eyes and you can do it, no matter how much your body says you can’t. We got this ladies. Everything happens for reason, sometimes they aren’t always known at the time, but they will come to the light when they are meant to.

One step at a time. Be kind to yourself and others. Breathe all the encourage and bliss around you.

Paralleling off the above is taking the one step at a time. I have also told myself on multiple occasions to be kind to myself and not to bash myself down. It’s ok to be raw and full of emotion. The world needs more people like that. I am not saying be a sobbing mess 24/7, but if you need to dance it out or sit on the floor of your shower and have a margarita and cry, you can do it.

I find being kind and encouraging to others, instantly puts a smile on my face. There are not enough people in the world that encourage and say kind things to others. DO IT! It will make you feel good and that person feel good as well. Don’t be afraid to call someone beautiful or to compliment them on their work. DO IT! Let’s empower each other to do great things.

I feel like I go through phases with food. Don’t you? Exactly why I wrote about a sustainable diet the other day. You need something that keeps up with your life and not CONTROLS your life. Check out that post for more information. My current food obsessions this month:

  • Plantain Chips
  • Salad Packs (You know the ones that include the toppings and dressing. If you were watching my IG stories the other day you saw I added a little protein and cheese and called it a meal. Super easy and healthy when time is just not there.)

Home Projects

My birthday present to myself and from my husband was to furnish my office. We both have home offices and travel and so it’s kind of a space I feel needs to feel comfy and chic. I have officially ordered all of the furniture but it all won’t all be in until mid February. I will be sharing my office transformation/ decor on the blog as soon as it’s finished.
